Wiki incarnation 1:

What: An introductory cultural immersion in the basic tools, artifacts, and community voices surrounding Open Education Resources and Personal Learning Environments.

Who: Minnesota Educators of the Gifted and Talented and interested community members.

Why: OERs and PLEs have the potential to empower learners in unforeseen and unpredictable ways in the near future. When experienced in combination, they create mutually reinforcing causes and effects that open the doors to widespread, learner-centered educational change. At present, OERs and PLEs offered significant tools and opportunities for differentiation for gifted learners.

Wiki incarnation 2:

What: Add. Annotate. Re-use, re-mix, re-distribute.

Who: Publics interested in PLEs and OERs.

Why: Wikis are sites of discussion and collaboration; a wiki is a living entity. This wiki will be most useful to communities interested in its contents as it embodies the changes and cultural understandings it is intended explore.
